Padlet Blog Share

When it comes to learning about new technologies, the first place I visit is the blog of The Techie Teacher.  She is an expert at new technologies and has innovative ways to use technology in the classroom.  I have been a little behind the times on Padlet.  This amazing site is a fabulous way to house links and projects.

School librarians must find a way to collect and hold many lists of information.  This would include books, websites, and other resources.  Padlet is a great way to collect all the information in a visual that is easy to share and for others to identify the resources available.

Since learning of Padlet, I have created a wall to house all of the teacher requests I am getting.  In each list I will be adding books and websites.  I can then share a link to this on the Teacher Page of the library website.  Here is a quick view of what I am creating.

Padlet is also a great way to get students engaged during a lesson.  The Techie Teacher has shared a  great way to use Padlet with students.  By changing the Padlet wall, the students were able to engage and share their learning with the class.  This post also has a free download of backgrounds that can be used on a Padlet wall.

I love how The Techie Teacher gives instructions on how to solve any tech problems that may arise as you use or share these ideas.

Each of the walls that she gives away in this post would be great to use in a library lesson or share with teachers to use in guided reading groups.

The one downside to this is that it now costs $100 a year to create unlimited Padlets.  At this time, teachers can only have 5 Padlets at one time in the free version.  One way to keep using this is to just delete a wall when you are finished and create a new one.  There is special pricing is available to schools.  The unlimited version may not be an expense built into many school budgets, but it is a fantastic way to collaborate.
